YESHUA/a(U$”y /JESUS NAME STUDY
Yeh-shoo-ah (Jesus) — Variant of
“Y’hoshua” (Joshua; see below). In the
TANAKK (O.T.) nine persons and a city have
the name Yeshua, usually transliterated as “Jeshus” or
“Jeshuah.” In the Septuagint and the B’RIT HADASHAH (the
New Testament) the name was brought over into Greek as
Iesous and then into English as “Jesus.” It means “Y-H-V-H
saves” (Matthew 1:21) and is also the masculine form of Yeshua’ah
(“salvation”). (1) The Messiah of Israel, Yeshua from
Natzeret. In modern Hebrew Yeshua’s name is pronounced
and written “Yeshu,” which may have been the ancient pronunciation
in the Galil (Galilee area). However, reflecting two
thousand years of conflict between the Church and the Synagogue,
it is also an acronym for Yimach sh’mo v’zikhrono
(May his name and memory be blotted out”) However, the late
Yosef Vaktor, a Messianic Jewish Holocaust survivor, took it
as an acronym for Yigdal sh’mo umalkhuto (May his name and
kingdom grow”) Matthew 1:1+. (2) A Messianic Jew in Rome,
“Yeshua , the one called Justus.” Colossians 4:11.
Ye-shu-’ah — salvation; used in a word play on Yeshua’s
name at Luke 2:30
Y’ho-shu-a (Joshua)— leader of the people of Israel, led the
conquest of Eretz-Yisrael (land of Israel) after Moshe’s
(Moses) death.
Both Yeshua & Yoshua are based on same root word
(yud-shin-’ayin—(-#-y) which means: “he will save.”

Are you aware that the orginal manuscripts were written Greek and did not even contain the name ” Jesus “?
You are quoting scripture from an English bible, but even the 1611 KJV and the first three English bibles did not contain the name ” Jesus “. Therefore the New
Testament believers did not baptise in Jesus name because it was not even devolopes until the late 1600’s.
What say you ?

Praise God In Jesus Name
The Bible says that whatever you do in word or deed do it (all) in the (NAME) of (JESUS)
I like to envoke the name (JESUS) in every deed I do.
There is (POWER) in that lovely (NAME) which is above every NAME. (ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM )
Jesus is the Father, Son, And the HolyGhost.Three different manifestations or roles, But still (ONE) God
Not a three headed God, which is a freak of nature.
There is (one) throne in heaven, And that throne belongs to (JESUS) Neither is there salvation in any other Name. (JESUS IS THAT NAME)

hi,you are right.what can we say.people who are saved for years,filled with the holy ghost,and act so silly,when you talk to them about the baptism in jesus name.i thank god for the book of acts,the only history of the early church.i thank-you for your time.steve write my email some time

I was baptized in the river…what an experience! Gracie can’t wait for papa Jerry to baptize her in the “pool” at CLC. She goes up the steps behind the baptistry every so often while I’m getting my choir robe on, inquiring about going in the water. I always tell her that’s where Pastor Jerry baptizes people who give their hearts to Jesus. She says she’s ready right now! What an exciting day when she really understands and takes this step of obedience in salvation.

Tom…I’m so sorry for you recent loss in the passing of Laura. Praying for your family today as we celebrate her life here on earth later today.

Thank you for this Bible study on baptism. I will never forget the day I was baptized in Jesus’ name. I really did feel like a new creature to whom God had given a clean slate. What a privilige it is to be baptized in the name that is above every name!
